About Us
Chaffin Luhana, a plaintiffs-only law firm, adheres to the principle of “Doing Good by Doing Right.” Founders Eric Chaffin and Roopal Luhana and their associates have collectively helped plaintiffs recover more than $900 million. Their ability to negotiate and clarify the legal labyrinth that plaintiffs face has led to their cases’ receiving national attention in features on ABC’s Good Morning America and ABC World News as well as NBC’s The Today Show. Plaintiffs can put their trust in Chaffin Luhana’s outstanding success record in both state and federal courts.
Chaffin Luhana’s associates and partners put clients’ needs first, ensuring that each client not only gets excellent representation in court, but also gains a deeper understanding of the nature of the case. They know that plaintiffs who have suffered a breach of trust–injured consumers, shareholders and corporate whistleblowers–need a higher level of integrity and a sense of partnership with their legal counsel. Chaffin Luhana’s consulting counsel and partners reach that higher level.
The Partners
Mr. Chaffin’s background as a federal prosecutor with the Business and Securities Fraud Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office helped him build a strong foundation of expertise with major cases. Plaintiffs seeking recompense for zinc poisoning have come to Mr. Chaffin who is working on their behalf to claim damages from GlaxoSmithKline and Procter and Gamble.
Ms. Luhana’s field of expertise is in mass torts and consumer fraud actions. A tireless women’s rights advocate, Ms. Luhana holds a position with the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee in litigation against manufacturers of common contraceptive medications Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella. This synthesis of “Doing Good by Doing Right” and of protecting women is emblematic of Ms. Luhana’s ethics.
Together, Mr. Chaffin and Ms. Luhana achieved success in the IPO securities case that earned plaintiffs recoveries to the tune of $586 million. The firm also successfully represented plaintiffs in the consumer fraud case against Dell Financial, recovering $17.5 million.
Of Counsel
Reema R. Desai, a co-founder of her eponymous firm ShahDesai, PC, acts as consulting counsel on the oral contraceptive cases regarding Ocella, Yaz and Yasmin. Ms. Desai specializes in mass tort litigation, but also represents individuals who seek an experienced advocate. She remains a partner at ShahDesai, PC.
Associates
Chaffin Luhana Associate Attorneys Morissa Falk and Evan Rosenberg bring a deep understanding of medical and scientific ethics to the firm. Ms. Falk’s primary focus has been on contraceptive consumer fraud and injury cases and denture cream cases, while Mr. Rosenberg’s service as a research assistant at Seton Hall University has honed his experience with bioethics and mass tort law regarding medical advances. He also competed at the national level with the Moot Court and Dispute Resolution team while at Seton Hall.
